Hot Hatch or Not Hatch?

How many of you remember when the only cars on the market boasting 300 horsepower and all-wheel drive were either a Subaru with an engine that had a pancake fetish, or a Mitsubishi with an anime wing that wasn’t a television set? Aside from Pepperidge Farm, nearly most of us born before the turn of the century can relate. Today, after seventeen years, the market for all-wheel drive performance sedans seems saturated.

Round 1 Vegas Drift Qualifying

It was at that moment, we instantly knew it was show time as the first car left the start line and headed into the first turn of this long drift layout. Our local Arizona drivers meant business claiming the top two positions. Qualifying 1st with 91 points was Austin Kregle in his 1995 Nissan 240sx S14, fresh with a Toyota 2JZ-GTE swap. Kregle worked up until the last minute to ensure his car was properly prepped for Round 1 of competition. With almost zero seat time with the new powerplant, Kregle proved himself a skilled driver as he blazed the track with style and set the bar for the remainder of the competition. For second place qualifier, Nick Gross with his fresh S14 set a strong score of 88 points. After battling engine gremlins in the last rounds of competition in 2016, Nick came back even more

Hot Import Nights

It’s the 20th Anniversary of Hot Import Nights Saturday June 3rd 2017 hosted at West World Scottsdale Arizona.  Roll-in times for the show were said to be around noon that Saturday, but I showed up a bit before noon and was welcomed by an already long line to be let into the  venue.

Last weekend, NAA Arizona held their annual club event adjacent to Luke Air Force Base at Arizona Motorsports Park. The two-day event brought beginners and experienced drivers together for the love of speed and the opportunity to push their cars to the limit.

Las Vegas Motor Speedway – April 15, 2017 – Southwest Drift ProAm Series Round 1 hosted by Vegas Drift was a huge success for Arizona drivers Nick Gross and Austin Kregle. However, Los Angeles driver of the 2008 Mitsubishi RWD Evolution: Raz Naor earned 1st overall with Gross in 2nd and Kregle in 3rd.
