31st Annual SCORE San Felipe 250
Contenders from around the world prepare as they look to compete against one another in the 31st annual SCORE San Felipe 250, located in San Felipe, Baja California, March 29 – April 2, 2017.
What makes this year’s season opener one to watch? Well how about the addition of a new class? That’s right! This year SCORE is moving forward in adding a new class for their events. The San Felipe 250 will be the first of many events that include the new Trophy Truck Legends Class.
This Baja class features drivers and co-drivers at 50 years of age or older. It’s a great opportunity to allow veteran racers to showcase their skills and relive their passion for adrenaline pumping desert pre-running.
Thursday March 30 will also mark a historic milestone for the event. For the first time in over 30 years, SCORE will hold a qualifying session to determine the starting positions for the Trophy Trucks, Class 1 and Trophy Truck Spec classes. Although qualifying is optional, 44 of the 58 total entries for the three classes have committed to qualifying for their starting position.
The 271.9 mile course will be a memorable yet challenging course. Running counter clockwise, it’ll test the drivers as they run through high speed dry lake beds, winding turns through canyons and trails, and three of Baja’s infamous washes; Chanate, Huatamote and Amarillo.
With over three decades of epic desert pre-running, SCORE looks to put together another crowd pleasing motorsport festival. So gear up for an exciting season opener that will take place next week in Baja California!
NOTE: All 2017 SCORE Races will be recorded for later airing on CBS Sports Network.
