[dropcap style=”style1″]T[/dropcap]his month Drifters got to experience some Arizona rain while drifting at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park on Saturday, July 18.
The night began with a smaller amount of cars then normal but as the event progressed the attendance increased despite the intermittent rain. The drag racing portion of the event was shut down early due to the rain, while drifting continued with open sessions and the Team Tandem series.
According to some drifters, the rain made things slightly more difficult because they longed for grip and traction while not being able to be as aggressive as normal.
During the drivers meeting, Go Fast Entertainment made an announcement about the next event, August 15, and their Guinness World Record attempt for the “largest simultaneous car tire burn out.” Go Fast Entertainments goal is to have 150 cars participate. The cost to register to be a part of the attempt will be $15. For drag racers or drifters, the $15 will also be put towards the cost of participating in either drag or drift. An online pre-registration will be available for those who wish to participate, however more details will be available soon and Go Fast Entertainment encourages you to check their Facebook page for updates regarding the event.
