Porsche unveils the Mission E Concept
For years Porsche has been known for having some of the world’s finest performance cars ever build. From the newest 918 Spyder to the very first Porsche branded 356, Porsche continues to amaze consumers with their new designs.
Today, Porsche unveiled a car that will give the Tesla S Model P85D a run for it’s money. Although just a concept, the new four door all-electric car is capable of producing the equivalent of 600 horsepower, with a 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds.
The impressive design includes a range of 310 miles per charge along with a charging time of 15 minutes for 80 percent charge. The car is set to come with an all wheel drive and all wheel steering system that’s geared to give precise handling in the desired direction.
The new design system of the Mission E Concept has two permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) which was used in this years 919 Hybrid that raced in LeMans. The system allows for both powering the car and recover braking energy.
That being said, the Mission E is anticipated to be able to do a lap on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in under eight minutes. Not bad for Porsche’s first attempt at an all-electric car.
