Product Review: Simple Green All Purpose Cleaner
[dropcap style=”style1″]B[/dropcap]eing the type of petrol head that specializes in getting vehicles completely filthy, I am always on the hunt for amazing products to clean my ride after a long day of dirt flinging. Trust me, I like it a lot better when my vehicle is covered in muck, but in the end it does need to get cleaned. After all, my vehicle does need to attend car meets and events as well, and most of these I can’t roll up to looking like my car had an ongoing battle with Mother Nature. I have to make sure that my paint is staying sparkly fresh and prevent it from getting ruined with micro scratches, and of course a vehicle runs a lot better when it has a clean engine bay.
Upon looking and trying numerous cleaning products over the years, I eventually landed on something called Simple Green All Purpose Cleaner. The first thing I noticed on the big 2-liter container is this is a concentrated non-toxic and biodegradable product, and that’s a big plus in my book. Not, only will this product last a long time because you mix it with water, but it’s also safe for the environment.
By this point you must be asking yourself, what exactly is he going to be cleaning with this stuff? Let me break it to you this way. With this Simple Green I could literally wash my car inside and out. I have used it to get the brake dust off my wheels, clean the engine bay, and rid it of dirt and grime, and have used it to clean mud stains off the seats and carpet. In fact I have even mixed it up as a solution to wash the entire exterior of my car with. It gets even more glorious from there. When I take it into the house, and clean floors, sinks, toilets, bathtubs, stoves, and even remove stains from carpet, upholstery and clothes.
When I first bought my most recent car, a 2002 Subaru WRX it was filthy inside and out. After all it was at the time of purchase an 8 year old car. Upon using simple green for the first time on it, I discovered that it was cleaning engine sludge off with ease that had been there for years, and the muck that it didn’t take care of right away I was able to do some light scrubbing and it would then come right off with the next rinse. So not only is this product good for dirt and mud, it cleans out oils and engine sludge as well. However, some ares of the engine bay are quite hard to get to. Which makes scrubbing these areas out of the question. What you can do is let Simple Green sit for about an hour on these spots and then rinse it off. Then repeat the process if necessary. The reason for about an hour is because it will eat all that dirt and grime right up but won’t dry out to where it is ineffective.
Overall the product cleans everything thoroughly. By taking a look at the finishing results. After the rinsing process all metal and plastics were evenly cleaned the same, and are vibrant now. Carpets and upholstery are looking new again. Even things like my counter tops, sinks and tile floors are bright and shiny. This really is an all-purpose cleaner. I haven’t found anything yet that it doesn’t clean.
Simple Green does make specialty solutions for all of these but with their All Purpose Cleaner I just take the concentrate and mix it with water to get a specific solution of my liking and go crazy on cleaning.
Overall, I would recommend this product to everyone. It is extremely easy to use, it’s fantastic for people wanting to have extremely clean cars, but also has a cleaning capability for everyone out there. Simple Green All Purpose Cleaner gets my 100% approval rating. It does what it is intended, lasts forever, and lives up to its name. It is safe for the environment, non- toxic and biodegradable. Did I mention it smells fantastic?
