Spy Shots: 2016 California Special
[dropcap style=”style1″]W[/dropcap]hile the 2015 Ford Mustang has been consuming the spotlight for quite sometime, the newly redesigned Chevrolet Camaro threatened to take it away for a moment with the 2016 model year. Ford wasn’t having that and has begun revealing some of the 2016 performance and appearance packages to keep their audience. Among those is the 2016 California Special (CS), a GT- which in Ford language means V8- with some retro takes from the first-generation Mustang.
All CS-equipped cars get 19-inch wheels with black-painted inserts as well as be identified by a special faux gas cap in the decklid. There’s also a new black painted rear spoiler that stands much taller than any Mustangs in recent memory and takes us back to a ’90s vibe. The front grill features a smaller pony badge off-centered, unique to the CS model.
Inside, the CS gets black leather-suede seats with red ascents throughout the cabin.
The 2016 Ford Mustang California Special will go on sale later this summer for the 2016 model year.
