Bad News for Camaro Owners

By Nicole James

user65911_pic88531_1345183321.pngFriday the 13th, GM announced that every Chevrolet Camaro made since 2010 is being recalled for…. An ignition-switch issue. This brings the total number of GM recalls for 2014 up to 38.

Technically, the recall of all the fifth generation Camaro’s isn’t for an issue with the ignition switch itself. What GM is recalling is the Camaro’s key fob. They key fob locks the car, sets the alarm, and so on but an added feature for the Camaro is that the key itself is also integrated into the fob and with the touch of a button, the metal key retracts into the fob or snaps out.

GM stated that the reason more than 500,000 cars are being recalled is because “a drivers knee can bump the key fob and [...]

By Matthew Harris

You probably whiz by this car brand every day, get stuck behind, next to, or in front of one, or even park next to one, quite simply the brand is everywhere. You have also most likely heard their catchy slogans over the years. “I love what you do for me”, “Drive your Dreams”, You asked for it, you got it”, “The best built cars in the world”.

We are talking about of course, Toyota.  They are currently ranked as the number one car brand according to “2014 Brandz top 100 ranking”, and ranked 26 on overall most valuable global brands. Beating out the second place car brand BMW which ranks 32 on the overall.  Toyota seems to reflect that in their net worth of $236 billion [...]

Nightmare in the morning

By: Amy Muser

Everyone has had this happen to them. You minding your own business just trying to get to work and bam! Suddenly becoming part of the worst possible situation. This nightmare starts with altercations to the speed. First to 25 MPH then to 15 MPH all of a sudden everything comes to a complete stop. All because someone in the front wanted to stop and smell the freshly paved blacktop. So you sit there, and five minutes rolls by no big deal right. Well then fifteen minutes roll, by then twenty, and by now you have started to slowly roll forward. Making some ground thinking it will be alright I’ll get there with time to spare still. Just trying to make the best of the situation [...]

Grand Theft Auto Stardom

As my dad was teaching me how to drive manual on a 77  VW Rabbit, he kept telling me how import it was to learn. He kept using the example that one day I may go somewhere and see an amazing Ferrari or Lamborghini and the owner of the car offers to let me drive it. “How much would it suck if you could not drive the car just because it is manual?” He would always say. While I haven’t been fortunate enough to be handed the keys to someones Ferrari just yet… I recently found another reason as to why it is important to learn as well as why a manual car is anti-theft in and of its self.

Annas Abdel-Khaliq nearly stole a 2012 C6 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport while it was sitting at a service shop in Florida, February 4th.

The force is strong with our double feature ‘Ride of the Month.’ The focus is on Daniel Adams 2009 Challenger SRT-8, also known as Lord Vader; and Manny Azurmendi’s 2013 Storm trooper Camaro. In this Starwars special edition of Ride of the Month, CSJ got to sit down with both Jedi Masters and talk about these awesome starships.

“Ever since they came out in 2008 I knew I had to have one, the looks, sound, performance, and over all manliness of the car. My goal of the build was good looks and performance and over time is has grown into Darth Vader and performance,” Adams said. With 427whp and 400tq, Adams has the power of the dark side. When it comes to the interior of the car, Vader’s modifications include: a [...]
