The Huracan, Lamborghini’s successor to its top selling Gallardo, was revealed in March 2014 at the Geneva Motor Show. Who would’ve guessed it would end up helping fight crime, but that’s exactly what happened when Lamborghini decided to donate the Huracan to Italy’s state police. In fact, the new super car is replacing two of its predecessors that were also donated to Italy’s police force in 2004 and 2008.
The donation is to further improve the relationship that Lamborghini has with the Italian police. “We have a strong and fitting relationship with the Italian State Police. The new Lamborghini Huracan stands for Italian super sports car excellence and we are proud to provide it to the Italian State Police to carry out the specialist tasks these police cars undertake,” said Stephan Winkelmann, President [...]
Honda’s S660 concept. S2000 successor? Or the NSX we have been waiting for?
By Brian Brawley
What’s not to love about the Honda S2000? The little bombshell roadster born from Honda was anything but tame. It featured just over 240hp from its scant two liter mill, still holding one of the highest horsepower to liter ratio in a production car. Having a light 2,750 pound curb weight, X-bone frame construction, minimalist driver focused interior, and a screaming 9,000 RPM redline, it gave NSX levels of performance at a more affordable price to the general population. After 10 glorious years, Honda finally closed doors on production with no replacement in sight. With the NSX already dead, it seemed like Honda had closed the door on sports cars in general.

The Superbowl has been practically forgot by now, but have the commercials slipped our minds already? Let’s talk about the chilling Maserati commercial. The commercial was narrated by Academy Award nominated Quvenzhane Wallis and showed dancers, steel workers, firefighters and birds in flight while Wallis sent a rallying cry to underdogs everywhere.
Maserati’s first-ever Super Bowl commercial was a short 90 seconds, but shocked audiences everywhere and the car community is still buzzing about it. Everyone has been expecting Jaguar to air something cool for its F-Type line, especially since they have been making a lot of noise about being a real player again in the premium sports car category. But no one expected Maserati to do something like this.

For years and years, generation after generation, the Little Tikes Cozy Coupes have become an icon in the American childhood. Whether it was new or used, it’s likely any enthusiast born after 1979 has a memory with one of these. While most of us have moved on to bigger and better things, this British Enthusiast spent 1,000 hours building an adult sized, airbag-fitted, 70-MPH version of his childhood hot rod.

To kick off the year, Import Face Off came to Phoenix! It was held at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park, formerly Firebird Raceway. Burnt rubber could be smelled all through out the air as the drifting contest was in full swing. Bryan Young took home 1st place in his googlie-eyed Miata. The event had an exceptional turn out with some old faces and new faces in the car scene along with an uprising of many more female enthusiasts either out on the track or presenting in show. Many different car clubs were present.
This February it is Car Street Journal’s pleasure to introduce Kyrsten Stoliker, and her beautiful Satin White Pearl 2013 Subaru BRZ, as our very first female Ride of the Month!
Women in the automotive world are slowly but surely becoming a more common sight. Many of these women have a passion for cars stemming from early childhood. What ignited this enthusiast’s passion for cars was when she was a young girl her Grandfather would tell her to come help him in the garage and bring him tools while he was under a vehicle doing some work. “Anytime my grandfather was around a vehicle I was always their right next to him getting my hands dirty. I received my first vehicle in high school which was a [...]
